Where is Hardens Creek?

I recently found the following entry in the book Rowan County North Carolina Vacant Land Entries, 1778-1789, by Richard A. Enochs.

"23 Mar 1779, Number 2145, Matthew Long 300 A. on Hardens Crk, including a large meadow marsh on both sides of sd crk and above Harden's entry. Made over to Jas G-egory (James Gregory) at request of Wm Sharp Mar 26,1795."

Can someone tell me where Hardens Creek was in 1779? My best guess is that it was in the part of old Rowan County which is now Iredell County. This guess is based on the knowledge that in 1784 James Gregory was in the part of Rowan County from which Iredell was formed.

Any help will be appreciated.
