According to North Carolina death records, Mrs. Arnette Payne died at age 22 in Iredell Co., NC, at Statesville, on July 2, 1925. She was the wife of Clarence Payne, and the daughter of M. W. Grant and Mary Etta Ellis Grant.
M.W. stands for Marcus Wilson Grant. He and Mary Etta had children: Arnette Grant, Harold Ellis Grant (2/26/1908 - 1/18/1960), and others.
Marcus Wilson Grant was born 8 June 1874 and died 30 June 1962 in Iredell Co., Stony Point, NC. He was the son of William Grant and Margaret Smith.
