Searching for the ancestral origins of L W Wooten, (b.8/1/1815-d.5/16/1894) married Margaret Renegar (b.3/9/1815-d.12/18/1889)
Known children:

John, 2/17/1846
M A, 1850
William Thomas, 5/11/1851
Betty Elizabeth, 6/7/1860-10/13/1937, m. Lorenzo Holton (my great grandparents)
Rice C, 6/7/1862-10/24/1926
This family was living in Cool Spring Township, Iredell County, NC at time of 1880 census. Don’t know just when they moved to this location or where they moved from. Listed as below:
Louis W Wooten, self age 65
Margaret Wooten, wife age 64
William T. Wooten, son age 24
Bettie Wooten, dau. age 19
L. Rice Wooten, son age 17
Beyond the census listing, cannot verify that the L stood for Louis. His headstone only has the initials L W. At this time, I have not located any surviving family who can verify given name.
