Reuben Combs, convicted in Iredell Superior Court some 13 years ago of the murder of his wife, Bessie Beard Combs, at his home, near Stony Point, and sentenced to serve 30 years in the State Penitentiary, has been released on parole, according to reports from Stony Point. Ill health is said to be the reason for the granting of the parole.
Combs is said to have been on the streets of Statesville Saturday, and, according to reliable information, has been at his father's home, at Stony Point, for several days. No word of his parole has been received here from Raleigh.
