Hello Pamela, thank you very much for for response which is most helpful. I was in touch with the volunteers at the Gen. Soc. of Iredell County and I was also given this information:

Regarding Old County Home Burials:

According to a newspaper article in our files, the old home was closed in 1963.

When Bernhardt Industries bought the property to build a plant in Iredell County,

the graves in the cemetery were moved to the Old St. Paul Cemetery on the

Salisbury Rd. As I mentioned in our conversation, the cemetery is near Gordon;

Iron and Metal Company. To reach it, exit 49 B off Interstate 77. I do not remember exactly

where the drive enters the cemetery; however, you should be able to get directions

from someone there. Gordon's phone number is 704-873-9004

You might also call the present location of St. Paul's at 1950 Salisbury High-

way, Phone 704-872-2547. The Archives may have information about the graves

that were moved, or at least, give you additional information about markers if any.

Mildred J. Miller

Volunteer

PS I think that Bernhardt may have closed. I don't know who operates it now.

Do you think we are talking about the same area. I doubt that Henty Miller has a tombstone at the old county cemetery if he died at the county home, But who knows, I may get lucky when I find the cemetery.

Thanks, James
