Does anyone know of a marriage between a William Blake and a Chambers ca 1765? My ancestor William Blake, son of an older William Blake of Johnston Co., married 2nd in 1780 in Wake Co., NC to Lucy Allen Mobley, widow of William Mobley. William Mobley and Lucy Allen had married 1770 in Johnston Co.with Edward Mobley as bondsman. The name of the first wife of William Blake is unknown but was possibly Chambers. William Blake and first wife were married ca 1765 for their oldest child, John Blake, was born in Jan 1766. Two other children by first wife were Alcy Blake and Sarah Blake (1770-1848). About 1785 William Blake and 2nd wife and his children from 1st and 2nd marriages, plus Lucy's Mobley children, all moved to Elbert Co., GA. Because of the use of the name Chambers as the middle name of two grandchildren of Sarah Blake by two different husbands, it is suspected that William Blake's first wife was a Chambers.
