My gggrandfather, Jehu Fortner aka J M Faulkner, lived in Chatham Co, NC 1850 and 1860 census. After the Civil War, he moved to Wayne and Johnston Counties, NC. I feel that he moved to this area because he had children and no further mention of wife beyond 1860 census to be near family. Any connection between him (b around 1820 per age in census) and Thomas Faulk in Johnston County? Any help will be appreciated.
