This is the second time that I have posted this message. After the first posting, I did receive several follow-up messages; however due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to abandon my search until recently. I am now back "with it again". I am in the process of compiling information on the family of Nathan Alexander STEDMAN,Jr. who, with his wife Prudence Hurlbut, three sons: Nathan Alexander III, Winship & Elisha migrated to Chatham County, NC from Ashford, Windham Co., CT shortly after the end of the Revolutionary War. Several of Nathan, Jr.'s grandsons migrated in the early to mid 1800s into Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas. I plan to publish this work and would like to locate as many descendants who moved out of NC as possible. The names of the grandsons of Nathan, Jr and sons of Nathan III who left the state are: William C. who moved to Arkansas; Elisha Hurlbut who moved to Tennessee; Nathan Winship who settled in Tennessee. William C. Stedman's son, William settled in Marshall, Texas. I Have copies of old letters written back to those left in NC containing loads of interesting information that would benefit descendants. Nathan, Jr. had two brothers who also settled in NC. 1. Winship who lived in Pittsboro, Chatham Co., NC 2. Elisha who lived in Fayetteville, Cumberland Co., NC I am also very interested in determining the descendants of these two individuals. Thank you Notify Administrator about this message?
