There are 44 or so Confederated soldiers who are buried in the Maplewood Cemetery in Kinston. I understand that they died in the Battle of Kinston and after the war they were removed from the places they had been buried at the time of battle and placed in the cemetery at Kinston. I have no idea that anyone knows of the names of these men, but there is a section in Maplewood which has a Confederate memorial marker where these men were reburied.
