According to the book "Cook-Cogdill-Taylor and Allied families" by Erma Carmichael, Zachary Taylor COGDILL married Mary Emma POWELL on October 29, 1884 near Buckner, in Parker County, Texas (see Book 2, page 374 MR for Parker County TX) She was born Nov. 12, 1859 in Macon, Georgia, the daughter of A.L. POWELL. This was his second wife.
Z.T. COGDILL was a Confederate veteran having served with Co. H, 2d Battalion, North Carolina Infantry. He was wounded at Gettysburg, and discharged at Appamattox Court House on 9 April 1865. He died of smallpox on 28 Feb 1931. Mary died 30 October 1939. They are buried at Ravia, Oklahoma.
