I am kin to this Davis side through both John R. Davis, son Evan Taylor Davis and Minzy Davis and daughter Eliza Jane Davis who married Evan. Do you have any idea what the "R" stands for for John R. Davis and do you have any proof that John R. married a McPheters? Evan T. Davis's death record states that his mother was Sallie/Sarah Sawyer. Did John marry more than once?
