I'm looking for any information on Joshua Griffin from Martin Co. NC. In the 1880 Census for Martin Co. there is a Joshua Griffin (64) his wife Victoria Griffin (34) & sons Joshua Thomas Griffin (9) & Author Griffin (5). I have a Joshua Thomas Griffin that was born 1871 in Martin Co. and died 1934 in Washington Co. He married Mary Louise Gibson B: 1872, & died 1940 in Washington Co. also. Now my Joshua would have been 9 years old in 1880. Can anyone tell me if the Joshua Thomas Griffin from the 1880 Martin Co.census is the same Joshua I have? My Joshua T. Griffin sons were: Jesse Wilson Griffin B: 1912, D: 1963, Joshua Thomas Griffin III & Jim Ed Griffin. Daughter: Alma Griffin. Jesse W Griffin used to talk about his Uncle Larwence Griffin? & another Uncle? And he had a couple of Aunts but the names are forgotten. Maybe Joshua Griffin (64) had children from another marriage? Jesse W Griffins Uncles lived in a small house with two front doors somewhere between Jamesville NC & Williamston NC. Joshua T Griffin's family moved to Washington Co. in the late 1920's-30's.
