This could be. However a James Mizell died about 1814 in Martin County and left three sons, from memory: Jesse, Seth and Aaron. This Jesse remained in Martin County and was not the one who moved to south Georgia.

The legend that Jesse of south Georgia served in the Rev War comes from a biography of one of his Jones grandsons written in "Savannah and South Georgia" by Harden, in which the statement was made that the grandfather of the Jones (whose name escapes me at the moment), Jesse Mizell, fought in the war under Marion in S. C. His Jones family was originally from S. C. and I believe that he was confused about which grandfather served.

Thanks for the information. I had never seen this and will persue it.
