The 1856 obituary for Bethany Ward of Greene County, Georgia implies that she was married around 1794 in Martin County, North Carolina in her 19th year.

Assuming this marriage was to Jonathan Ward who was identified as her late husband in her obituary [She was referred to as the relict of Jonathan Ward.], I would like to find more information on this marriage including her maiden name with the hope that the migration of her family will give me some idea from which Ward's in NC Jonathan descends.

Any help in finding information on this marriage and family is greatly appreciated.
