I'd love to see what you have on William Stanley in South Carolina - where was he in SC? I always thought William Stanley was the father, not the brother of William Gaston. Do you have a copy of the will of Susan Fisher Vick? I do note that in the 1860 census of Martin County that she indicates that she is a widow, and Gaston and Melvina are living next door with their children. By 1867, Gaston and Melvina have returned to Horry County, where they purchase a plat of land with my other 3G Grandfather, John J. Reaves. Many of the Vicks who came to Horry County are buried in the Belin UMC cemetery at Murrell's Inlet just across the line in Georgetown County. Like you, my line is confirmed through Susan Fisher Vick, though I can't recall my source for her maiden name. Do you have that information?
