I was recently informed of an abandoned family grave site which holds the grave of my great grandmother, EDNA (HARDISON) ELLIS who died in 1916. When my son and I went to the grave site just outside the western city limits of Plymouth, N.C. on US 64 highway, we found our relatives grave stone and another small grave marker for a SOPHIE ANN wife of MAYBERRY STILLMAN. There were no visible dates on the STILLMAN stone but this family cemetery plot is extremely overgrown with underbrush & briars, etc...(The STILLMAN family owned this farm property back around 1916. I feel positive that there are several other graves at this location because of its size and the fact that there is a very old Cedar tree in the center of this circular plot which is about 50 feet in diameter and is extremely over grown! This old cemetery was discovered when a construction company was clearing the lot for a Wendys
fast food restaurant.
