Jame Purvis was a Revolutionary War veteran having spent about fouryears in the army. He was born about 1763 in what is now Martin County. He had at least two brothers L:ewis and William, and maybe more. He moved to Johnston County from Martin County in
1786 and married Rhodea Roberts. The family moved to Tennessee about
1800 and to Pulaski County, Ky, about 1810. He died in 1840. At least 10 children were born to this couple. I have been unable to go beyond this James in my research. Any help will be appreciated.
