Recently my husbands family cleaned out the family home and he brought home a family Bible copyright date of 1815. It is very old and fragile. It reads Elizabeth Steele Book and recorded in it are the following:
John Steele February 1790
Joshia was born April 25, 1801
Jane Steel born Januay 30, 1803
Martin Steel was born October 3, 1804
William Steel was born Sept. 14, 1806
Nancy Steel was born May 1, 1808
Rachel Steel was born July 27, 1815
______ Steel was born Januay 13, 1818
Robert R. Steel was born Nov. 19, 1820
Sarah Steel was born Nov. 9, 1819
James Steel was married Sept. 15, 1811(4)
James Steel and Elizabeth was married November 16, 1819
________ Steel was married March
Rebakeh Steel was married Januay the 8, 1824
Jain Steel was married Januay the 6, 1824
Rain has gotten to some of it which made it hard to read. Does anyone know who this family is? My husbands family includes Barnett, Fite, Jordan, Ferrell, Christenbury, but don't know of any Steel/Steele connection. All are of Mecklenburg County.
Any help appreciated.
