Can anyone claim an Archibald Brown who was buying land between 1816 and 1830? Have found several records in Mecklenburg deeds etc.
Wondering if there are two Archibald Browns in Mecklenburg/Anson? Now Union.
My ggg gf, Archibald M. Brown was a Methodist preacher and came to Macon Co. AL abt 1836 or 1837 from Anson CO.
Brothers were John W. Brown b. abt 1800 NC, Alexander A. Brown b. 1795 Scotland and possilby Jennet Brown b. 1800 Scotland or NC married Stephn Currie Hamilton.
I know the original county line was near what is modern day Monroe in Union Co.
Just can't figure out if there were two Archibalds!
