Looking for information on my great-great grandfather - Wesley Adams. His name was spelled 'Wellesley' on his sons (Lindsay W. Adams) death certificate. I can only guess that it was spelled wrong and is actually 'Wesley'. The only other information I have on him is the name of his wife - Elizabeth, and that they were from Charlotte NC.. Since Lindsay was born in the 1880's, it is very likely that Wesley and Elizabeth were enslaved persons. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
