Moved to Hardeman Co. in 1821 Lunette, I really have no idea. In looking at your posting history for clues I see your other posting on this question says she was sent to Missouri about 1868. If that is factual the number of convents may have been few and easy to check records. Churchs kept good records for the most part. She seemed to have ties to prominent folks and probably had kin in MO also. Where the kin where living could be near where she was sent. The Polks don't seem to have been Catholic (I don't think they were but don't really know) but perhaps the Peters were or converted. Hardeman County was still very remote in that era and Bolivar a very small town then and now (small when compared to a big city anyway). Someone on my husband's maternal side married into the Peters family in the county but I don't have any info about that. Have you tried a post on the MIssouri state forum and also the Religions forum, not sure of the exact name on that forum. Good luck. Linda Notify Administrator about this message?
