I have never heard about that - is there a web site one can read about the event? I found the forum for Catholic and here is the link and an exercpt from one of the messages. There should be some folks on there glad to help. http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?convent::catholic::17.html Do you know which order she joined? What was her given (birth) name, and what name did she take at her simple profession? If you don't know these, what city was her convent in? Religious houses (monasteries and convents) usually have meticulous records with regard to their members. Also, if you know which diocese (church district) she lived in, they will have a website which may give more information on current or past religious orders. In the USA, Catholic dioceses are set up as groups of counties, or occasionally a whole state (i.e. Idaho, Utah, Wyoming), so if you know the general area where she lived, that can help too. Even if the convent is currently closed, the diocese will still have records on it. If you have a problem with the above pasted link just type CATHOLIC in the Jump to forum in case you haven't gone that route already. Good luck - this sounds like a movie for sure.
