my great great great granddad was John Walter Portis who married Catherine Peeples. I think my cousin told me that the postis family was from north carolina, and that one was a doctor, and one was an elephant trainer.they had mary margaret portis. mary margaret postis went by molly. molly postis married Charles Clayton Thompson. they had frank, Albert, Clyde, Lena, Allie, Annie, Claudine, Nora, Marie, and Elsie Thompson. Frank Conrad Thompson was born 1895 in Wytheville or Tazewell Virginia. He married Mabel Thompson in 1922 in Pearisburg Virginia. I appreciate any information someone could fill me in on about Charles Clayton Thompson or the portis family.
