I am looking for information on Stephen Gates born 1822 NC.
He was married somewhere in NC to Lucey A.?? about 1840.
This family moved from NC to Hardeman Co.,TN in 1850.
I can't locate them in 1860 --anywhere??
By 1870 they are in Tippah Co., Ms.I am trying to find
a marriage record, and or will or some clue as to who Stephen's father was. Or information as to what county
he was from in North Carolina.
The names of his known children were:
James, Joshua C., Margaret, Edward D., and Eli T. Gates.
Any help or information is very much appreciated!!
