I am trying to find out about COL. WILLIAM JOHNSON B.abt 1741-1755 in Virginia D. 7/1821 in Wilkes Co. Ga. He made his way to Wilkes Co. Ga. and married NANCY HILL daughter of Henry Hill and Sarah Cotton in 1793. I saw the notes of the Bute Co. Court and saw William Johnson (Sheriff) , Col.William Johnson, William Johnson P.R., Major. William Johnson and William Johnson Esq. After reading the notes carefully I came to the conclusion that they were one in the same. I also know that there were three William Johnson's in Bute CO. I'm thinking that the Majr, Col, Esq. Sheriff was my William Johnson as he was a P.R. and Sheriff in Wilkes CO. as well. My William Johnson was called Col. but was actually a Capt. in the Rev. War. I also noticed one of Henry Hill's family ( Henry Hill) was in Bute Co. as well. If you know anything about these two people I would love to get your info. Also I saw a Martin Johnson with a son William Johnson and would loved to compare notes if you are related or know about this family. Thank you so kindly in advance....be blessed always!
