BENJAMIN WEBB b. bef. 1750 was married to Rhodia. He was listed in 1800 Rockingham Co. N.C. Census--His will was written 4 Apr 1799 and probated Sept 1801.
Benjamin & Rhodia had the FOLLOWING CHILDREN
1. THOMAS WEBB b. 8 Jan 1774 d. 2 Dec 1829 married Dorcas (Danney or Donney) b. 23 Mar 1776 d. 6 May 1828--They are both buried in Haw Presbyterian Church Cemetery-Williamsburg Township nr. Wentworth N.C.-he provided money for tombstones for himself, his wife, his brother Meredith (had died in 1824) & his wife"Rachel Green WEBB (died 1821) in his Will-They had a daughter Margaret WEBB b. 1805 who married Noah Climer--Thomas had remarried & his 2nd wife was pregnant with a baby when Thomas died & the baby was stillborn after Thomas died.--Thomas had 8 black slaves at the time of his death..
2. SAMUEL WEBB b. bef. 1799 (Thomas left property to him & Gillstrap plus others in 1829
3. GILLSTRAP WEBB born bet 1775-1794 because he is listed in 1820 Rockingham Co. N.C. Census-had children (a)William G. Webb (who m. Nancy Green who was listed as insane in 1850 Rockingham Co. N.C. Census--William had children Sarah WEBB b. 1837 & Martin G. Webb b. 1839 N.C m. Mollie-had daughter Lizzie.-William m. 2nd time to Angeletie-she is buried beside him in Friendship United Methodist Cemetery in Guilford Co nr. Rockingham Co. line ) & (b) Unity WEBB b. 1810/1820 who married Barzilla G. Wright b. 11 July 1815
Gillststrap's wife must be the one mentioned in 1820 Census but she had to die b. 1821 when his will was written 8 Oct 1821--he died abt 1840 Rockingham Co. N.C. & Will was probated May 1844 Rockingham Co. -listed 5 negro slaves in his Will

(a) Mary WEBB b. abt 1795 m. Benjamin Ladyman
(b) Joshua WEBB b. abt 1795 Rockingham N.C. d. bef. 1870 Greene Co. AR m Susan-had children--Henry WEBB (m. Elizabeth Little), Benjamin WEBB (m. Mary "Polly") Nelly WEBB (twin to Benjamin), Richard WEBB, Hardy WEBB, William WEBB, Samuel WEBB (m. Francey Giden) Mary S. Webb & Indianah WEBB)
(c) Richard WEBB b. 1800/1810 Rockingham, N.C.
(d) Benjamin WEBB b. 1800/1810 Rockingham N.C.
(e) Margaret WEBB (m. Thomas Middleton?)
(f) Rhoda WEBB b. 3 Dec 1807 Rockingham Co. N.C. d. aft 1870 KY m. William Schoolfield-her 2nd marriage to J.D. Frizzell)
(g) Loucinda WEBB b. 1829-could be a granddaughter living with them in Hamilton Co.

6. MEREDITH WEBB (MY DIRECT ANCESTOR) b. 2 Jan 1793 d. 28 Jun 1824 N.C. m. RACHEL GREEN b. 6 Nov 1792 N.C. d. 17 Dec 1821 Rockingham, N.C.--both died young leaving following children
(a) Samplett WEBB b. 19 Feb 1815 d. 22 Sept 1875 Guilford Co. N.C. m. Polly Sockwell--listed in 1870 Madison, Guilford Co. N.C. Census as having son Thomas M. Webb b. 21 Jan 1850 (census of 1880 says Thomas was 18 but tombstone says b. 1850)Thomas m. Ellen Belle Climer b. 4 Mar 1859 d. 12 Jan 1908-- They had son Samplet E. Webb b. 20 Dec 1878 d. 7 Jul 1927-buried Friendship United Methodist Church Monticello Guilford Co. --became a Doctor-married Hattie Bell b. 17 Oct 1882 d. 8 Feb 1920

9. RHODA WEBB b. 1799 d. 26 Aug 1849--m. 1819 John Wharton b. 15 June 1797 d. 8 Jun 1891 Bethel Presbyterian Church, McLeansville, N.C.--Thomas mentions a sister Rhoda & her husband John Wharton in his 1829 Will.
