i have recently started my family tree on the Kilby side. My great-grandmother was Merica Jane "Janie" Kilby. She was born 01 May 1912 in Bryson City, Swain Co., North Carolina. Her Fathers name was Thomas Kilby, 1881 in NC or TN and passed 12 Aug 1935 in Swain, Co., NC. Her mothers name was Martha Louise Queen. She was born 1879 in NC and passed 17 Mar 1939 in Swain Co., NC. Janie has siblings; the only ones that I have found are:
1) Edgar Kilby 12 dec 1910 nc- 09 sept 1979 cherokee co, nc
2) Sinda Kilby 25 july 1908 nc- 15 sept 1993 swain co, nc. She married a WIlliam Ball.
( my g-grandmother married a Thad Ball; the only g-grandfather i only knew. (Merica Jane "Janie" Kilby married? a Andrew Aden Vance first and had two children:
1) Jeanetta "Janis" Vance-Shreffler((17 july 1928-20 mar 2004)) and
2) James Robert "Tom" Vance ((16 dec 1932-11 may 1998; my grandfather))
3) Daniel Kilby
4) Mary B Kilby
5) Bonnie Kilby
6) Lona Kilby (10 aug 1918, swain co, nc and passed 11 july 2002, massillon, stark co, ohio.) ((a great aunt that I never got to meet)) (((she married a Fred H Howard who passed before her and then she married a Lloyd J Hale.))
7) There are four more siblings to Thomas Kilby and Martha L Queen union.
IF ANYBODY CAN HELP ME. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY LEADS.I would gladly share what I already have.
