BUCHANAN'S in Mitchell Co. N.C., DNA

I have read with interest your queries...
I would like to ask the BUCHANAN'S in this area to really seriously think about doing the DNA test or some BUCHANAN male in your family.
I know there are alot of BUCHANAN'S out there, we need you in this project.
My mother's father was born in Plum Tree, Mitchell Co. (then) N.C., in 1887, it was said that his mother was Dove SPARKS & his father William G. BUCHANAN, but we don't know. We can't find any proofs, and don't know which family he might have belonged to.
Our only living BUCHANAN male at age 87, has resently taken the test, but without BUCHANAN'S in this DNA project to compare it to it doesn't do us alot of good.
Would you BUCHANAN'S please think about doing this?
