Charles McNeill of Bandana

I have been researching the genealogy of Charles Lafayette McNeill and Della Winnie Grindstaff. I have had some help from contributors of this forum (thanks again). The Grindstaff/Ledford line is well documented. The McNeill line is a little less known. It appears that Charles' father, Robert Nelson McNeill, was the son of Archibald H. McNeill and Jane Howell. Jane dies when Robert was only 6 years old. Archibald was the son of Hector McNeill and Bettie Pressnell, both of Grassy Creek. There is a recorded history of Hector being the son of Neal McNeal of Scotland. Neal apparently came to the U.S. from Scotland at the age of 3 in 1760. I recently discovered that Neal's father was Duncan McNeal who immigrated to Camden, South Carolina. Does anyone know how this family came to live in the Mitchell Co. area? I'm guessing that this family came from Argyllshire, Scotland (of the Colonsay/Gigha McNeill Clan). Any information about any of these families would be greatly appreciated.
