Just looked up Rueben in the 1900 Mitchell County NC census for you. Found him in Little Rock Creek Twp, Mitchell Co.
It lists:
Rueben Ledford..53, head of household
wife Polly 48
Jane 20
Loncretey ?not sure of spelling... 9
Walter 5
Coswell 1
Then under that listing is:
Ervin Ledford.. 24 head of household
Sarah .. can't make out second digit of age 2?
Nancey ..?12 not sure of spelling
Larrison..10 not sure of spelling
?? daughter (can make out her name at all..8
Greenberry..1
