Thanks for the reply. ITis the same Morris family. I can not find anyinformation showing which county in NC John H MOrris was born in. I know he was listed in the 1850 Chatham co NC census married to Jane Coggins. they married probably about 1832 based on the year of birth of their first child. I think he might have been from Moore co NC but of course I am not sure, He was listed in the 1850 Chatham co NC census as a carpenter so he might have been in Chatham co NC for work. I can not find a marriage record for John H MOrris and Jane Coggins but I have read that there are not many marriage reocrds for NC back then. Can you give meany advice on how to find which county John H Morris was from? The 1880 NC census stated both his parents were born in NC. Thanks, Ross
