My ancesters came to New Hanover around 1740 and there are several records around that time. William Riley resgistered land and brands and left a will, naming wife Mary and sons John, William, Bartholomew, and Edward. John Riley left a will witnessed by Henry Rooks and William Moore. Edward Riley had many court and land mentions up to 1768. Bartholomew seems to have disappeared around 1758. Other names included in records include McGuffords. I would appreciated any info regarding this family. It has been my brick wall for some time. I have information to share.
