Jared, Thanks very much for the information on Acorn Branch in New Hanover County, NC. I believe there is also a cemetery called Acorn Branch Cemetery off N. Kerr Avenue between Gordon Road and Farley Road. I am looking for the grave of Nancy Eakins Reaves who died between 1895 and 1901. A family Bible lists her date of death as February 1901, but she does not show up in the 1900 census, so I wonder if she actually died in February, 1900. We do not know where she is buried, but her youngest child, born in 1895, listed his birthplace as Acorn Branch. Possibly she was buried in the closest cemetery if they were still living at Acorn Branch at her death.
