Have you checked for Starkey in Elizabeth City co, VA and in York Co, VA. Peter Starkey was the administrator of my ancestor Abraham Mitchell's estate in 1696 in York Co, VA. The Mitchell, Starkey's, Middleton's all moved into Onslow Co, NC at about the same time.
I know that Peter had a brother Edward and Peter had children William & Edward. Peter's wife was Katherine?? and I also have a son for him named John but he is not named in his will.
I have a John Starkey,don't know his parents, wife Alice who had Phoebe Ogden, Sarah & Mary. Phoebe O. married George Warren Mitchell, son of Col. George Mitchell, Sarah married William Jones half brother of Col. George Mitchell and son of Emanuel Jones & Kezziah Hunter Mitchell Jones and Mary married James Taylor.
Have you been able to document your John's parents??
