Joseph E. WILLIAMS married Elizabeth HOLT circa 1800 in Orange, NC. One family historian gives his birth as 1779, appx., in Orange. I believe his middle name to be Edward. Any speculative advice as to who his parents might be? Even in the early days & the first F. Cen., there were quite a number of WILLIAMS in Orange.
