I am trying to locate the background of John Piper, Sr an Ulster Scott who came to America through the Port of Philadelphia. He was born in Scotland/Ireland around 1730-35 was probably Presbyterian, came to Orange County via Virginia?, down the Philadelphia Wagon Road into the Eno River area. Settled down eventually had 9 slaves, was a farmer, may have worked in a local gristmill. A his death in 1798 around October he had 525 acres of land, built a two room cabin on the Eno (now Eno River State Park) I can find his will, property records, land grants, etc but nobody has his early history (birth, Country of Origin, name of wife ) Any family out there who has information . Have been told later generations destroyed early family records Contact me at 919-308-1312 if you have any leads Notify Administrator about this message?
