Thanks so much for the information.

I am searching specifically for the parents of William E. Smith of Pender/New Nanover County, NC. William E. Smith was born 1828 in Cumberland County, NC but was living in the Caintuck area near the towns of Point Caswell and Currie, NC in the 1840's, 50's and 60's. He was married to Mary Ann Yopp in 1852. William E. Smith died 1864 in Wilmington while serving in the Confederate Army.
