Looking for information on a James C. Croom who was married to Elizabeth Ann Thornton in 1860 in New Hanover County. I they came from what is now Pender County. They only had one child that I have a record of. His name was Ausford Holston Croom and was called Oscar. He was a farmhand on a Bannerman farm in 1880. I have been in contact with John Croom and although we have no verifiable proof, we believe him to be a son of Hardy Croom and Esther Murray. If anyone has any other information, I would greatly appreciate your sharing.
