Hey Jerry,

I sometimes think I am related to everyone in Pender and Bladen Counties. The more research I do, the more
connections I make. My Mom told me if I continued on I was going to find out that I was my own "grandpa" one day.

Seems like I have had some conversations with a Rex Horrell, I believe from Bladen County. I believe he was a decendent of Jonathan Horrell also. Jonathan Horrell's daughter, Zilphia married my great, great, grandfather's brother John Phillip Barnhill. His son George Washington Horrell was my great, great grandfather. His granddaughter, Ella Lee Wallace was my grandmother. His daughter Martha "Jane" Horrell Wallace was my great grandmother. Geoge's wife Martha M. Woodcock, my great, great grandmother has a sister Ann Catherine Woodcock who married my Great, great grandfather Glisson Wallace. Their brother Hanson married my great aunt Melissa Jane Barnhill. That's the Woodcock line. Now you get the picture of how I got myself into all these family lines.

I was down in NC, Pender County in late Sept. - had hoped to get to Haw Bluff church and cemetery. Many of my family members are buried there and continue to be. My plans to get over there didn't work out as Mom had to have someone stay with her (couln't be left alone) and no one else was available.

I did get over to Point Caswell area where there is an old church still standing (barely). Didn't find the cemetery I was looking for. Will have to try again.

My family lines go back over 200 years (that I can prove) in New Hanover, Bladen and Pender Counties.

My great, great grandfather Griffith W. Barnhill was killed in the Civil War (Goldsboro battle).

Anyway Jerry, thanks for responding. Maybe someone out there might have a photo of some of these folks.

Take care.
