Laughinghouse in Perquimans?

The obituary of my 2great grandmother Margaret Ann (Laughinghouse) Webb (10 Sep 1823 - 14 Feb 1880) in the Kinston (NC) Journal indicates that she was born in Perquimans County and came to New Bern at a young age. I am not sure whether to believe this - is anyone aware of Laughinghouse in Perquimans in the early 1800's?
