Deborah:

I am trying to locate ancestors who left NC before 1800 and migrated to Burke County, GA & then Pulaski County, GA. By following collateral lines and neighbors, I have determined they (Reynolds) were probably in Onslow in 1755 or so. I previously thought they were in MD & VA at that time. Tillman's book aside, I would be interested in any Reynolds info you could share on folks in Eastern to Southeastern NC before 1790. Stephen Reynolds is my 3rd ggf and last proven ancestor, born in GA abt. 1812. His father is possibly William Reynolds. Stephen's mother (Phereba) was born in NC abt 1790. GA Land Grants show a Stephen Reynolds obtaining land in 1813 in Burke County, and a Stephen Reynolds, Jr. obtaining land in the 1807 GA Lottery, also in Burke County. So, it is likely that my ggg-gf had an older relative, possibly grandfather, named Stephen. I know this is not the kind of look-ups you are offering, but I am just getting back to NC and don't know where to start. And, I'm leaning on you because the Reynolds name you bear leads me to believe you might be more familiar with that name in NC & VA than most people. Thanks for any insight you may offer.
