GODDARD - FULFORD FAMILY FROM HERTFORD

My name is Patrick Lernout. I live in Belgium in the city of Waregem. In our city is the US Military Cemetery "Flanders Field". This is a cemetery with soldiers of World War 1. As I am interested in the history of World War 1, I got the idea of writing a book about those soldiers, who gave their lives
for our freedom. I think that would be a nice tribute to them. Of course I need a lot of searching work to do about their lives and I am also looking for (copies of) photos of them .

One of the soldiers buried here is Walter Goddard. He was from Hertford. He was killed in action September 1, 1918. He was the son of Fannie Fulford (and Noah Staton Goddard). This was an important family at that time (merchants, former slave owners, diamant trade from Liberia, ...) Walter had a brother Irvin (a lawyer) and a sister Hannah. After 1918 it is as this family disappeared. Could anyonehelp me with some information/picture about this family ?

Thank you very much in advance
