I have Carter L. Jones (b 1822) married Melina Hawkins in Person County, North Carolina on November 15, 1842. According to the 1840 Person County Census there are 5males that would be the right age for my Carter Jones (18 Y/O).
Ambrose (b 1780-1790)
Griffin (b 1790-1800)
Moses (b 1790-1800)
Samuel (b 1800-1810)
William J. (b 1790-1800)
Is there any one researching these Jones Lines that has access to their will or family records? I live in Atlanta and have limited access to those. Any leads would be appreciated.
I do know that Carter, full name is John Carter L. Jones, was employed by the railroad and that took him to Georgia. His oldest 3 children were born in North Carolina and he must have been in transit during the 1850 census because I cannot find his family anywhere. The names of his chilren are as follows:
