I am interested in William Watkins, whose 1771 Will is readily available on these sites. I am a researcher of a Watkins family line that others before me believe descend from this line. I don't have proof that this is the case and would like to find out more.
This William Watkins will had heirs of dauhters: Sarah Buck , Elizabeth , Ann , Rachel . and sons: William and John. This John is also noted in my family as John Nathaniel Watkins also of Pitt County NC.
John Nathaniel Watkins married Jenny Oliphant and had at least a son Luke W. Watkins b.1770 in Pitt Co. Luke migrated to Knox County Kentucky (now Laurel County Kentucky). John mariied second a Mary Walters (Walton) and a son Chapman was born.
This William Watkins married first a Jane Darden. I think the children are from the fisrt marriage, but not sure.
I would like to make contact with anyone interested in this family to exchange information. I am also a partipant in a Y-DNA project for the Watkins name and would love to make contact with other male Watkins who descend from this line for possible inclusion in this project.
