So there is no way to trace the Cox line back any further, unless you are really really lucky to find a will, a bill of sale, a deed, or a mortgage listing Jordan. R K Hearn owned 11 slaves and 5 were owned by Henry Horn. Those are the only names close to Harin on the 1860 census. Henry Horn lived in Contentnae in 1870 so it might be from him. I just can't tell. Black genealogy is very hard to do, because before 1870 slaves were not listed by name and didn't have a last name. Notify Administrator about this message?
