I am trying to find out more about the John Watkins from my family tree. I have in my records he was born in Sampson COunty, NC in 1780, but am not sure where I got this info. He had children with Recy Godwin, but they were never married. Then later I think he married and had more children. He is the father of my ancestor and I am trying to find out where he descends from. I notice the will from Pitt county had a son John and one William. I am wondering if anyone knows if these two men had a son named John that would have been my John Watkins. Any info would be appreciated.
