Thanks for the response. I will keep looking to see if I can find a father for my John Watkins. Sorry, I don't have any relatives that have the Watkins name. The John Watkins I am looking for fathered the children, but he and the mother were never married. I guess in a way they would still have the surname DNA. The last name would then be Godwin, but I do not know any that I could ask about doing DNA.
I am really sold on the DNA testing though. We had our BUSH surname male DNA tested and we were very pleased with the results.
