I'm looking for information about who Catherine Bolling's parents were. Catherine married William Eaton Hawkins about 1771 or 1772 probably in old Tryon/Rutherford County, NC.
Their daughter Elizabeth was born about 1772 there, later married John Upchurch and died and was buried in Henry County, TN.
I have found extensive research on the Hawkins line, but cannot find who the parents were of Catherine Bolling.
I do have that Catherine and William Eaton died and were buried in Greenville County, SC, and that William Eaton was probably born in VA.
If anyone can help me find any old marriage records or other information that would tell me or give me clues about who Catherine's parents were, I will really appreciate it.
One Hawkins source says that Catherine's parents were Archibald Bolling and Catherine Payne. However, most dates show that there is at least a 50 year discrepancy in dates there. It would appear that the Bolling/Payne marriage didn't take place until about 1801 and Catherine Bolling would have been about 45 years old by that time.
