Daniel Hilton m Martha Walker, Native Americans

Daniel Hilton b. 1788 married Martha Walker b. 1806. We have no record of their marriage. Martha Walker was said to be from Rutherford CO. NC on their descendants Cherokee applications. Daniel was listed on the Cherokee Emigration Roll of 1817 and left Mouse Creek TN in 1828 for Arkansas. He was living in the area of Major John Walker and some think it may have been living on the land of Major Walker. We have found Daniel Hilton listed on several letters to the office of Indian Affairs. Daniel was in Arkansas within the Cherokee Nation in 1831. Daniel and Martha are on the first Federal Census on the Blount Co. Census of 1850.

The Cherokee applications say that Martha's father and mother are William and Katie Walker. Some believe that this is the brother of Major John Walker a Cherokee of great importance to the Cherokee nation.

We would like to know about any leads to finding out the parentage of Martha Walker. Any Help greatly appreciated.

Mike Helton
