George's father is Tyche Knutson of Glosimot, Telemark, Norway and his mother is Anne C. Jorgensen of Norway. George's wife, Lena, was also born in Norway.
George pioneered near Leith, North Dakota, in the western part of the state, where he lived in sod shanty while farming his homestead after attending the N.D.A.C. a year, now the N.D.S.U. Later he moved into town where he met and married Oline Hilde from Norfjord, Norway. He was in the creamery business there until his retirement and died in November, 1932.
